Heritage Tourism in Ohio

Heritage tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors of a growth industry.  The National Trust for Historic Preservation defines heritage tourism as “…traveling to experience the places, artifacts and activities that authentically represent the stories and people of the past and present.  It includes cultural, natural and historic resources.”

All across Ohio, communities have experienced the ability of heritage tourism to create revenue that supports retail and services businesses housed in local historic commercial buildings.
