Chapters & Affiliates

Existing local preservation organizations, local historic preservation commissions and design review boards, historical societies, downtown revitalization organizations and other groups, as well as areas not currently served by such groups, have the ability to join the Preservation Ohio Chapters and Affiliates Program. Current preservation organizations, Historic Preservation Commissions and Design Review Boards, historical societies and downtown revitalization organizations can become a Preservation Ohio Affiliate at a cost of $100 per year. In areas where such an organization does not exist, individuals can form a Preservation Ohio Chapter at a cost of $100 per year, or have at least four (4) individuals in that area acquire individual membership. The benefits of the Preservation Ohio Affiliate and Chapter Programs are similar.  In each:

Chapters and Affiliates will receive priority-level support and assistance from Preservation Ohio, including on-site assistance.

Chapters and Affiliates will receive a copy of all notices generated by Preservation Ohio.

All residents in Chapters and Affiliates communities will receive discounted rates for attendance at Preservation Ohio-sponsored seminars and educational opportunities.

Chapters and Affiliates will be invited to regional preservation roundtables to be held across the Buckeye State.

Chapters and Affiliates can participate as local partners in the Preservation Ohio Preservation Easement Program.

Chapters and Affiliates will have priority for posting information about attractions, events and requests for assistance on all Preservation Ohio websites, including MyHometownOhio, the most popular statewide preservation and revitalization online magazine in the country, as well as the new Ohio Classic Properties website.

Chapters and Affiliates communities will receive discounts on HometownOhio services, including preservation and revitalization assessments, project and program assistance, and much more.
